What an emoticon? They are the little yellow and green faces you see in the posts like this:
When you are posting a new topic or replying to a post, you have the option of adding smiles, grimaces, little devils and various other emotions. You will see them on the left hand side under message body.
To use them, type away, and then click on an emoticon and you will see a piece of code insert itself. For instance the green smile is the code :_mrgreen_: (without the _'s)
One limitation I have found is that if you try and insert an emoticon in an area where you have already typed, the code will always end up at the bottom of your post. To move the emoticon to where it should be, using you mouse, simply cut the code and paste it where it belongs. |

Tim, Help! When I clicked on an emoticon, it had the javascript and what
the emoticon meant right in my post. Guess I should have practiced first!

Hi,
I tried to duplicate what happened and the only thing I came up with was you right clicked on the emoticon, copied the shortcut, and pasted in the post? javascript:emoticon(' ')
All you have to do is left click on the emoticon and it will automatically appear in your post.
If this wasn't the case, please let me know via pm and I will look into it further.
On another note, you can edit your post to correct your smile by removing javascript:emoticon(' ')
If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
