Step 4

Now you can remove your thumb from the loop as long as you securely hold the loop in place with one hand.  Or you can leave your thumb in place until you insert your other needle and cast on your second stitch (the loop is actually the first stitch).  Insert the tip of the other needle from the bottom through the to the top opening of the loop.
Step 5

Wrap strand of wool around the second needle in between the two needles and over the loop.
