Scrapbooking Discussion

This layout took me about 40 minutes to make. The outfit the baby is wearing was the inspiration for this theme.

Scrapbooking Notes:

While the outfit gave me the inspiration as I mentioned above it is not the only focus. The smaller photos capture some of her personality and expression. I cut around the baby in the close up photo because there was too much blank space and useless stuff in the background that wouldn't have looked good in the layout I was trying to make. I started to use a red background for the layout but thought it would blend in too much with the red outfit so I added a white inset background to contrast with the red. The white really makes the the red stand out in the layout! To embellish the page I used red, blue and yellow stickers that compliment but also contrast with the red. If I had used only red stickers, it would have matched the theme of the layout but by using blue and yellow balloons and blocks I really made the red stand out once again. The blue, yellow and red blocks were used to make the layout more child like, and to fill in the large white space I had left on the page. The remaining space is filled in with journaling. I decided to use a bold red tipped pen because it allowed me to create calligraphy styled writing and the red matched the color scheme of the layout.
