Scrapbooking Discussion

This Heritage Christmas scrapbook layout only took me about 20 minutes. Simple in design, yet everything on the page says Family Christmas from the colors to the stickers. What is important about the colors used is they all provide contrast to the photos so that each element of the layout stands out against the background.

Scrapbook Supplies

• White photo mounting paper
• 2 green zig zag borders
• 2 different stocking stickers
• 1 wreath sticker
• 2 evergreen die cuts
• Double sided adhesive

Scrapbook Tools

• Ruler
• Scissors
• Self-healing mat
• Personal trimmer

Scrapbooking Notes:

When choosing the colors and embellishments to accent a Heritage layout such as this on you want to keep in mind two words, classic and simple like the times exhibited in the photos. For this reason I only included the colors white and green with just a touch of red to brighten the page. I also used stickers and die cuts that enhanced the photos as well as tying in with the Christmas theme without overpowering the page. I positioned the photos and embellishments carefully to leave space for journaling. There is enough space for journaling above or below the photos and even on either side of the wreath sticker. One of the tree die cuts is larger than the other but this worked to my advantage. I didn't want to cut the photo because the edge around the photo (which was typical of photo developing at the time) is part it's history and one side of the photo had more empty space than the other so I overlapped the die cut on that side.
