Book Review
I found this compilation of projects to be a really helpful how-to
book on home decorating. The ideas are quick and the instructions
are user friendly, perfect for those who don't have a lot of time
on their hands but love crafting and decorating.
An assortment of projects are available in the following sections
(Chests and Cabinets, Tables, Quilts and Afghans, Painted Chairs,
Pillows, Rugs, Holders, Accents, Curtains and Garden Things) to
appeal to varying tastes and for different skill levels. These
projects incorporate a number of skills and techniques such as woodworking,
sewing, decorative painting techniques, tiling, quilting, crocheting,
stenciling, needlepoint, decoupage and etching. There are
both indoor and outdoor projects included.
Full-size patterns are provided with some of the projects, and assembly
diagrams are included with the woodworking projects and other crafts
when required (i.e. for Quilts). The projects are displayed
in real life situations so the reader can experience the beauty
they might add to their own home setting. Accompanying each
project is a quick tip for you to read before you start, as well
as interesting comments on the inspiration behind it.
There are additional sections at the back to help you with completing
your projects successfully such as terms, abbreviations, preparation,
how to enlarge and trace patterns, making wooden cutouts, quilting
basics, stenciling basics and where to buy your craft materials.
