Book Review

Wedding Flowers: More than sixty beautiful arrangements is a guide for the bride who wants a do it yourself seasonal wedding. Each season is divided into several themes; for instance Spring has 5 different genres, Perfume in Springtime, Clouds of blossom, Color and Elegance, Easter and Art Nouveau;  Summer includes Cottage Garden, Exotic Splash, Midsummer Meadow, Old Fashioned Roses, Summer Whites, Woodland Romance and Eliebethan Herbal;  Autumn includes a Thanksgiving theme, Perfect Pastels, Forest Enchantment and Medieval Magnificence and for Winter, there is Winter Profusion, Weddings for Christmas, Victorian Posies and for the ultimate in romance, ideas for a Valentines Day Wedding.

Each theme includes ideas for bridesmaid baskets, table arrangements (for both small and large tables), corsages, groom buttonholes, bridesmaid headdresses, bouquets, pew decorations, pergola decorations (summer only), and even the occasional idea for the page boy!

There are 8 pages at the end that provide the basics of flower conditioning, bowmaking basics, wiring, piping etc. but this book is not really meant for a beginner. While each idea provides a full color photo, a list of the flowers needed and how they are mounted, it does not walk you through each arrangement step by step, so some intermediate to advanced knowlege is required.  If you are a beginner and want this book, I suggest you consider getting some other flower arranging books to supplement your knowlege.

  • Clouds of blossom Lynch Gate Decoration
  • Woodland Romance Bouquet
  • Exotic Splash Pergola
  • Forest Enchantment Garland Headdress and Bridesmaid Basket
