Book Review
I really like this book because if you have kids or work in child
care, there is a almost everything you will ever need to know about
doing projects in the areas of miscellaneous crafts, recipes, painting,
science, music, parties, magic, planting, modeling, making t-shirts,
making jewelry, doing hair, making masks, face and body painting,
balloon art and juggling. I also like that using recyclable materials
is encouraged and this practice is included in the materials list
for many of the projects, especially in the Magical Masks chapter.
There is an introduction to each section with photos of some of
the projects and the main materials and tools needed as well as
hints and tips for making the projects successfully. A Basic Techniques
section with step-by-step photos of the template tracing technique
and descriptions of the techniques as well as a safety section follows
the intro. Each project also features photos of the materials and
tools as well as step-by-step photos accompanied by instructions.
Most of the templates are at the front of the book except for those
used in the T-shirt Fun chapter. It is more convenient to have the
templates with the individual project to which they pertain. Each
individual project also has pictures of the tools and materials
required.
There is such a wide variety of projects in this book is could
come in handy for many years and help children with school and home
projects including science experiments and birthday parties. And
if you don’t feel very creative or knowledgeable in some areas
like magic tricks, balloon twisting or making the friendship bracelets
that never seem to go out of style then this book is your salvation.
I know it will come in handy in the upcoming years with my daughter
because her interests could develop in a wide variety of areas and
this book will help me develop them. |
