Book Review

If you are looking for ideas for wreaths and have run out of ideas, this may be the book for you.  It begins with descriptions of bases and forms, natural elements, artificials and embellishments that you should consider when making wreaths, and includes a page of basic how to attach your material to the wreath.

There are a wide variety of holidays and special times covered including Christmas, Weddings, Baby, Anniversaries, Easter, Mother's and Father's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Graduation, Retirement and for general Parties.  The wreaths are colorful, very attractive and well thought out, but the instructions are more descriptive rather than instructional, so most of the wreaths would be more appropriate for someone with experience.

There are about 20 Christmas wreaths but unfortunately with so many days and only 110 pages, many of the categories like Get Well, Graduation, Vacation and St. Patrick's Day only have one or two examples of ideas, the very categories that people tend to struggle with when trying to come up with something creative.  I also noticed that the author did not create names for the wreaths so it can be a bit of a pain to tell your friends about the wreaths without referring to a page number.

  • Parchment Christmas Angel Wreath (pg. 33)
  • Ceramic Santa Wreath (pg. 37)
  • Bird Perch Wreath (pg. 44)
  • Victorian Mothers Day Wreath (pg. 84)
