Book Review
What I really like about The Gift of Christmas is that even though
it isn’t a recent publication, the craft ideas are currently
very popular. Not only are there a lot of crafts to make, there
are additional sections amongst the main craft ideas such as: More
ideas for ornaments, Quick & Easy Garlands, More Ideas for Tree
Skirts, More Ideas for the Table, Quick & Easy Gift Ideas and
Quick & Easy Gift Wrapping, all of which show photos of the
different ideas accompanied by a brief description of how to do
it.
Another bonus section in this book is great and informative because
it teaches you how to do a specific technique (i.e. How to Blanket
Stitch which is used on the Fleece Throw) to be used in combination
with one of the craft ideas in this book. Other crafts that are
used in more than one way are; the Ribbon Roses, which are used
to adorn a gift box, and the Hand Cast Paper & Felt ornaments
that are used as gift tags. The Gift of Christmas is the gift that
just keeps on giving.
The step-by-step instructions for the projects in this book are
clear and straightforward and are accompanied by specific photos.
These types of instructions are the best because not only can you
understand them but also you can see how the craft is supposed to
look as you are making it. It helps to ensure the success of your
project. The only thing I didn’t like is the pattern section
is at the back of the book and this isn’t as convenient as
having the pattern adjacent to the project instructions. |
