Scrapbooking for Girls Only is divided up into 5 categories; It’s
All About … My Friends, School, Family, Travels and ME! At
the beginning of the book is a How to Use this Book section to help
you get started scrapbooking your photos followed by a useful glossary
of scrapbooking terms of tools, materials and techniques you will
be using. I like that there are also a few templates included right
at the beginning that you can use to get started organizing your
photos into layouts. This is a small book but very well organized
and packed with a lot of great ideas to encourage and inspire!
Each layout is accompanied by a tools and materials list as well
as numbered instructions. The number applied to a particular step
of the instructions corresponds with a specific area of the layouts
that it is explaining how to do. The instructions are simple and
easy to follow and together with the clear photo of the completed
layout make scrapbooking manageable and fun for young girls. The
layouts show will be very appealing to girls because they are fun
and colorful and the themes are relevant to the things they are
interested in (i.e. friends, shopping, sports, prom, etc). There
is also an additional section at the end of each chapter, a page
of phrases or titles to use on your scrapbooking layouts in case
you can’t think of the right thing to say or to inspire you.
I really like seeing that there are a lot of two page layouts included
in this book. I like them because it shows you the possibilities
of larger layouts. When you have two many photos for one page, instead
of eliminating some photos or including too many on a page you can
keep them all, spread them out and do something extraordinary with
them. I also like that most of the layouts really tie in with the
subject of the photos and all the embellishments reflect the theme.
Including embellishments on a page like a piece of Monopoly money
for the Monopoly Marathon layout really make the page colorful and
the photos stand out. Scrapbooking can be daunting the first time
you are doing it but the instructions and layouts in Scrapbooking
for Girls Only make it seem fun and easy so you can jump right in
and get started. |
