Book Review
Pretty Weddings for Practically Pennies is divided into four chapters/categories:
Modern Romance, Country Charm, Vintage Traditions and Champagne
Taste which also outlines the types of wedding ideas covered in
this book. The wedding ideas covered include the flowers & bouquets,
invitations, boutonnieres, flower girl & ring bearer accessories,
veils, table decorations (place cards, centerpiece ideas, and candles),
cakes, chair décor and party favors. There are additional
decorating ideas for candles and candleholders, reception décor,
outdoor decorations, napkin rings and napkin folding as well as
glassware presented throughout the book.
I like the way the wedding ideas in this book are presented under
the heading “Bride Ideas”. The “Bride Ideas”
cover everything from finances, getting the best deal, making your
own boutonnieres, flower girl accessories and veils, what flower
to use for the season you are getting married in to choosing the
candles for your wedding and shopping for a florist. Pretty Weddings
for Practically Pennies is a guide to the wedding that you want
on the budget that you can afford. The considerable number of ideas
dispensed within its pages are simple but beautiful and easy to
make. The photos display the beautiful possibilities for your wedding
and inspire you when you may not know what direction to take. The
only thing I didn’t like was some of the ideas displayed in
the photos (i.e. the candle decorating ideas on p. 170), weren’t
accompanied by any written directions. |
