Book Review

The book opens with a thorough introduction to growing and making potpourri, various methods of flower drying and the materials you need to get started.  There are also a wide variety of potpourri recipes near the front of the book if that is all you want to make.

The crafts in the following sections are distributed under general headings most of them are only labelled on the actual page they appear.  If you were looking for one specific craft it might not appear in the index so you would either have to search for it by craft type or hunt through the book yourself.  This makes using the book confusing and not very effective if you are limited in how much time you have to make a craft.

A couple of things I did like were the tips and traps section to help you make sure you were successful in making your potpourri and the creative ways to display potpourri.    The crafts demonstrated unusual, applicable and varied ways to use potpourri during the different seasons, holidays, occasions and everyday.

Favorites:

  • Culinary Table Wreath and Kitchen Swag
  • Potpourri Confections
  • Flea and Moth Repellant Potpourri Sachets
  • Potpourri Booties
  • Herb Dolls
