Easy Beading is a book is full of creative projects that anyone
should be able to do if the clear illustrated and written instructions
are followed precisely. You are also provided with a complete, handy
supply list for each project and as a bonus there are 5 pages of
Shortcuts (reader’s tips to make your beading life easier)
throughout the book. Following the introduction from which you will
get an idea of the types of jewelry you will be making in the book
as well as the history behind this book, there are illustrations
of the tools and materials, gemstone shapes, freshwater pearl shapes,
glass, crystal, and miscellaneous beads, findings, spacers, and
connectors so you will have a know what the products and tools you
will be using look like. This is followed by step-by-step instructions
for basic techniques you will be using to make the jewelry from
start to finish.
Easy Beading is broken up into chapters based on the types of materials
you would be using; Glass and seed beads, Pearls and shells, Metal
and chain, Gemstones, Crystals, and Mixed media (wide variety of
beads and beading styles). I really like the wide variety of beading
projects in this book because it means there is something for everyone.
There are instructions for making earrings, bracelets and necklaces
separately as well as necklace and earring, necklace and bracelet,
necklace, bracelet and earring combinations. For a few of the projects
in this book there are alternative color combinations provided (i.e.
Shell game and Face it).
The title and description of the projects in Easy Beading will
give you an idea of the style or flair of the project (i.e. Balinese
beauty – Pair soft white pearls with rosy quartz for a feminine
look and Creative license – String a multistrand necklace
with assorted beads). For those of you who are especially creative
and want to make your beading project more special you can even
create a custom clasp in the section on fabulous finishes. If you
have always wanted to make your own jewelry this book has some fabulous
projects for you to make and expand your knowledge of beading. |
