Book Review
The craft ideas and projects presented in Beautiful Wedding Crafts
came about as a result of the experiences of a family in preparation
for their daughter's wedding. They wish the entire experience to
be better for other brides out there who are on a budget and still
wish to have a beautiful wedding. Creating these wedding items yourself
makes them and the entire experience more personal for you and every
involved in/attending the wedding.
The introduction covers a brief outline of the content of this book.
The Basic Techniques chapter covering what is needed to know to
make some of the crafts/projects in this book follows the introduction.
Color drawings accompany the clearly written instructions for the
techniques included in the chapter.
The craft ideas and projects are divided into chapters named for
the parts of the entire wedding process (Once He Proposes, Going
to the Chapel, Bon Voyage and Happily Ever After), which add to
the charm of this book. The photos representing the individual projects
beautifully display the creation opposite the page with the clear
step-by-step instructions except for when the there is more than
one version of a craft (i.e. Handmade Stationery with Party Pizzazz).
How and what is involved in making these quick little ideas are
explained in a paragraph long description. Patterns required for
a craft are included with the instructions but need to be enlarged
(i.e. Doorknob Sachet). Several of the craft ideas include variations
(i.e. Sweet Dreams Pillows include the Lavender Doily Pillow, Heart
Pillow and the Antique Linen Pillow).
I like that there are special photos and quotes relating to weddings
and love throughout Beautiful Wedding Crafts making it a beautiful
book to look at as well as a resource for wedding preparation ideas.
I also really like that there are additional hints and tips called
What Most Wedding Guides Don’t Mention, Wedding Celebrations
Around the World, Honeymoon Travel Tips and Sentimental Memories
throughout the book to make sure you are well prepared and your
wedding and honeymoon take place without a hitch as well as possibly
giving you additional ideas from wedding practices in history. Some
of the hints and tips contain of information you need to know about
being well prepared for what will happen while you are away (i.e.
mail delivery) as well as having two copies of an up-to-date passport
when you are travelling. There are also additional articles in this
book covering Gifts for the Wedding Party, Picture Perfect (concerning
the photos of your wedding), The Language of Flowers (the meanings
of flowers, foliage, herbs and spices), Creative Ideas for Journals
and Scrapbooks, Honeymoon at Home and Gift Ideas for Anniversaries. |
