Book Review:

The designs in this book are what make it very attractive. At the beginning of each chapter there is a framed sampler project that incorporates many of the designs in the following pages. There are additional designs of similar themes as the ones in the sampler provided for use in other cross-stitch projects. The chapters fall under the categories, Flora and Fauna, Friends & Family, Heart & Soul, Hearth & Home, Heaven & Earth and Happy Holidays. Before starting any of the projects in this book you should read over the general admission section at the front of the book to reacquaint yourself with the basics (Fabric for Cross-stitch, Number of Strands, Preparing Fabric, Needles for Cross-Stitch, Floss, Securing the Floss, Carrying Floss, Cleaning Completed Work, and stitches with abbreviations and instructional diagrams (Cross-stitch, Backstitch, French Knot, Long Stitch, Lazy Daisy, and Couched Stitch) for creating cross-stitch projects. It is especially necessary to read the Introduction because it includes the information about which color code applies to which project. The color code for the sampler design is on the final page of the designs and the color codes for the extra designs are on their own page.

  • Flora and Fauna
  • Heart and Soul
  • Happy Holidays
