Book Review
101 Crafts Under $10 is the perfect book for recyclers and do-it-yourselfers
because the base materials for most of the projects are items you
might already have in your home. When reading through this book
I was amazed and intrigued by the variety of crafts within its pages.
The projects are broken down into these general sections frames
and photos, creative candles, papers & cards, pillow panache,
speedy stitchery, nature crafts, kitchen quickies, and toys for
tots. This book also includes a chapter on the craft tool kit.
You really get an idea of how special the crafts are because they
are displayed and photographed in beautiful settings, which make
them stand out in your mind. Seeing how they look in their natural
settings is enough to inspire you to make them. Each chapter and
each craft has its own little introduction that also give you a
sense of the type of projects and how they can be used in your space.
The projects in this book include something for all skill levels
of crafters and using a variety of techniques. The instructions
for the projects are clear and detailed and are accompanied by a
complete materials list. The only thing I thought should be different
about this book is the chapter on the craft tool kit should be at
the beginning of the book so you read it before creating one of
the crafts. This way you can get familiar with the tools and supplies
you will be using for the projects. However, if you are like me
and you flip through the entire book before choosing a project you
want to do, you will discover this important chapter and look it
over before beginning anything. Happy crafting! |
