Scrapbooking Discussion

The inspiration for this layout was these photos I took of my daughter wearing cute yellow sunglasses while she was playing in her room one day. She never wanted to wear them before but when I put them in with her toys she put them on and started playing.

Scrapbooking Notes:

I managed to capture a picture of her talking on her toy cell phone wearing the glasses before she realized I had taken her photo and turned to face me, which is when I nabbed the second photo. I used yellow paper because it provides contrast with the blue top my daughter is wearing and ties in with the yellow sunglasses. I tried arranging the photos on blue paper but the shirt blended in too much, the layout looked dark and the photos didn’t stand out against the background. Because the action in the photos happened in a sequence I decided to arrange them that way with the first photo taken in the upper left hand corner and the second one in the lower right hand corner. They overlap a bit but nothing important is covered up in the photos. Arranging the photos this way leaves a large empty space next to the two photos. I decided to fill the spaces with two heart-shaped journaling boxes. The purple stands out against the yellow making the journaling box distinct from the rest of the layout without being overpowering.
