Scrapbooking Discussion

The inspiration for this layout was my daughter’s first long visit with her grandparents, at her great-grandparents’ house where we spent the weekend visiting her uncle at Easter. She is almost nine months old and she is playing with a set of ABC blocks her grandparents bought her.

Baby Blocks Scrapbook Layout

Scrapbook Supplies

•Hot pink photo mounting paper
•Baby die cut
•2 sets of A, B, C, blocks die cuts
•Double sided adhesive

Scrapbook Tools

•Personal trimmer
•Scissors
•Ruler

Scrapbooking Notes:

Her cheeks are all rosy because she is teething; the outfit she is wearing is in various hues of pink and for these reasons I chose the pink paper to make all these colors stand out. Using the pink paper to mount the photos on also makes the baby stand out against the dark colors in the background, not that she needs any help because she is the subject of the photo. Normally I would cut out the background of the photo but in this case I didn’t because I want her to see the look of her great-grandparents’ house when she looks at this scrapbook page. In the second photo where the baby is looking at the camera I overlapped most of the background with the first photo to link the photos together and because what I was covering up was the same as what was in the upper left hand corner of the first photo. I added the ABC blocks down the side to tie in with the blocks the baby is playing with in the photo and they kind of create a border down one side. I used a BABY die cut to fill in some blank space at the top of the first photo and to add some color to the top of the layout. The empty spaces next to the photos can be used for journaling. You would have to use a dark color pen for it to show up against the hot pink paper.
